roots and remedies in relationships at home and in school March 20th 2009 - 9:30 am - 1.00 pm Venue: Resource Centre, LVSC, 356 Holloway Road, London N7 6PA Speaker: Mary Sue Moore, Ph.D.

Why do children who fail to learn in school become adults who expect themselves to fail? Understanding how to shift a child's experience of themselves in a world full of challenges can break this common developmental pattern where experiences of failure become an unconscious expectation, and eventually an assumed description of self.

This half-day workshop is aimed at helping school staff and understand why some children fail to learn and, in the course of time, expect to fail. You will learn how to how to help children unlock their innate capacity to be a problem-solver.

The workshop is for all school staff, teacher trainers, advisors, educational psychologists, educational psychotherapists and other therapists who want to work more closely with teaching staff.

The workshop is delivered by Mary Sue Moore, Ph.D., clinical psychologist, researcher and licensed child and adult psychotherapist. Mary Sue studied with Dr John Bowlby in London as a Fulbright Research fellow. She was a primary school teacher for eight years before training as a school psychologist and clinical psychologist.
