Children in care are no less able than their peers, but they often fail to achieve at school. Traumatic early childhood experiences can seriously impact upon a child's ability to settle to learn. They are often preoccupied with issues concerning safety and security and can engage in inappropriate behaviours to try to meet these very real needs rather than being freed up to make the most of all that is on offer at school.
The course consists of seven days delivered over a six week period beginning Autumn 2010.
Course fee: £600 per person for each school sending two members of staff.
