This course is suitable for teachers, educational psychologists, learning mentors, nurture group practitioners and others working with children.
Entry requirements

Candidates must have experience of working in an educational setting (or be willing to gain this) and be educated to degree level (level 6)

The Caspari Certificate in Therapeutic Teaching
Course outline
The syllabus for the Certificate in Therapeutic teaching is the same as the first year of the Advanced Diploma in Educational Psychotherapy.
Students explore children and young people’s emotional, social and mental health needs. Students start to develop therapeutic teaching skills working with children and young people.
The programme covers:
Psychoanalytic thinkers and theories
Attachment theory and therapeutic teaching
Other theoretical concepts in Educational Psychotherapy
Caspari Therapeutic Teaching intervention - a practical intervention
Course fees and additional expenditure
Course Fees: £4500 per annum
One year part-time course
Online Learning
Thursday evenings: 5:45–9:00pm term time

The difference between the 1st year of the Advanced Diploma and the Caspari Certificate in Therapeutic Teaching.
The main difference between the two courses is that Advanced Diploma students must attend weekly personal psychotherapy sessions in preparation for starting one to one work with children and young people.
Additional expenditure
Weekly personal psychotherapy: 1 hour per week, 40 hours per year. Fees vary.
How to Convert Courses:
If you find you want to change courses please talk to the Course Director who will direct you on how to start the formal process of converting to the Advanced Diploma in Educational Psychotherapy.
Please note all students must undertake one whole year (40 hours)of personal therapy before starting EPT training placements.
International qualifications
We accept a wide range of international qualifications. Please discuss your qualifications with the Course Director.
If English isn’t your first language, you will need an IELTS score (or equivalent English language qualification) of 6.5.
